for hand-printed books in small series

COLORFUL PICTURE ABC

»Just finished and fresh from the bookbinding…
the No. 41 of the other children's book. In reality, it is technically not a book, but a cassette containing 8 loosely inserted double sheets of heavy handmade paper. These sheets each have 4 letters with a picture each... the last sheet only has 2 letters.

All texts and images are printed on the hand press. The images are printed separately and then mounted so that the insert character remains visible. The images are partially colored by hand. For the ABC letters I used an old serif wooden font. The format of the solid cassette is 33 x 23.5 cm.

The first photo shows the cover of the cassettes. The inside title corresponds to this print. The third photo shows, using the example of the first sheet, how the titles of the double sheets are structured.

The edition includes 12 copies. There is a special edition; Not in this case.”
